Inshore Wreck & Trolling Fishing Trips

Our Inshore Trolling and Wreck Combo Charters out of Ocean City, Maryland offer a versatile 6 or 8-hour fishing trip designed for up to six anglers who want a mix of fast-moving action and steady bottom fishing. This combination trip is ideal for families, groups, and anglers of all experience levels looking to maximize their time on the water by targeting multiple species and fishing styles in a single outing. Whether you’re new to fishing or a seasoned angler, this trip keeps lines in the water and opportunities coming throughout the day.

We start by trolling the nearshore waters for fast-striking pelagic species such as Spanish mackerel, bluefish, king mackerel, and false albacore when conditions are right. After trolling, we shift to productive wrecks and structure where we target black sea bass, flounder, tautog, triggerfish, and other bottom species commonly found off Ocean City. All fishing licenses, bait, and tackle are provided, and fish cleaning is available for a small additional fee at the end of the trip. We kindly ask guests to remember to tip the mate, as they work hard throughout the day to keep lines in the water and ensure a successful and enjoyable trip for everyone aboard.

Target Species

From June through October, inshore trolling and wreck fishing off Ocean City, Maryland offers a rotating lineup of species as water temperatures and bait movements change throughout the season. Early summer (June and July) typically brings strong trolling action for Spanish mackerel and bluefish, with king mackerel starting to appear as conditions warm, while wrecks produce steady catches of black sea bass and flounder around local structure.

By August and September, trolling action often peaks with fast-moving false albacore joining Spanish mackerel, bluefish, and king mackerel in productive nearshore waters. At the same time, wreck fishing remains consistent with sea bass, triggerfish, flounder, and tautog depending on depth and structure. In October, cooling water temperatures shift the focus more toward tautog and late-season sea bass on the wrecks, while trolling becomes more weather- and bait-dependent, with fewer but still possible runs from migrating Spanish mackerel and false albacore before the season winds down.

Where We Fish

Our inshore trolling and wreck combo charters stay close to Ocean City, Maryland, focusing on productive nearshore waters where bait and structure consistently attract fish throughout the season. When trolling, we work along the beachfront, just outside the Ocean City Inlet, and around nearby shoals, rips, and color changes where Spanish mackerel, bluefish, king mackerel, and false albacore actively feed. These areas are all within a short run, allowing us to stay on the move and follow the most active schools without traveling far offshore.

For wreck fishing, we shift to nearby artificial reefs, shipwrecks, and natural bottom structure scattered along the Ocean City coastline. These spots hold black sea bass, flounder, tautog, triggerfish, and other bottom species depending on the time of year and conditions. Because both the trolling grounds and wrecks are relatively close together, we’re able to efficiently switch between fishing styles and maximize time with lines in the water on the most productive spots available each day.
